You don't know me

You don't know me.
You thought you did.
You don't.

These scars I've earned.
Those bridges I burned.
The living and being alive.
You don't know me.
I don't know if you can.
Do I care?
Storms ridden out.
Cloud's lining silver found.
I'm here still. Made it.
You don't care to know.
You didn't then, don't now.
Good by me.
Laughing at a false face.
Saw through you too!
Don't waste my time.
You don't judge me.
Not your right, then or now.
Don't waste my time.

  1. You have grown so much since we first met not so long ago. The important thing is that you know yourself.

    1. Thanks Brian! I am much stronger than I ever was. They don't really know that though. Too caught up in the past I guess. Thanks for coming over.

  4. This resonates with me. It speaks to me of my family who haven't even tried to really know me, but assume they know all about me. Love this piece.

    1. Susie I am learning it is their loss, not knowing us. We are not who we were, or maybe who they thought we were, and that is good. What is not is they assume they know that of which they know not! Glad you came over. :-)

  5. This is good...there are so many people who judge without finding out who the person really is. It is easier just to have preconceived notions. Your poem resonates truth!

  8. I can so relate to this write! ! Why is it people insist on going by labels? Always great in La La Land but the moment they hear a label. People jump to the worst conclusions conceivable. Everybody misses out then!
Your sites are so well done. Thanks for telling it like it really is!
